SuperTextSwap/Scope, regex & side panel

Scope, regex & side panel

Keep rules inside the right website and elements. Add regular expressions and the side panel when useful.

Start with URL scope#

Target all pages, the current domain or a custom URL pattern. Prefer the current domain when only one website is needed. Check custom-pattern matching on the actual target pages.

Narrow it to an element#

Use the visual picker to select a page area and apply the generated locator as the rule scope. You can also enter a CSS selector. Website redesigns can invalidate locators; pick the area again when needed.

Regular-expression matching#

Use plain text when it is sufficient. Regex describes a class of text: for example, item_\d+ can match item names ending in digits. Test on a small sample and avoid overly broad expressions.

Popup and side panel#

The v0.1.9 manifest declares Chrome’s native side panel. The workbench offers a popup/side-panel switch to help you edit while browsing. Browser support, permission prompts and behavior depend on your actual environment.
